Group therapy is a form of psychotherapy that aims to help people manage mental health conditions or cope with negative experiences and behaviors. Meeting other people recovering from or working through similar issues helps people realize that they are not alone.

Group therapy can give people the support they need from not only a counselor, but also from a group of people who are going through some of the same conflicts. The other members of the group often serve as models if they have overcome some aspects of their challenge.

Goals of Group Therapy

The goal of Group therapy is to instill hope in clients and bring people together so that they can benefit from more support throughout the session.
